Liao Hui Retires from Weightlifting

So Liao Hui has announced his retirement from international weightlifting. A real fan-favourite, 69kg but pretty jacked he holds the World Records in Snatch (166kg), Clean & Jerk (198kg) and Total (359kg) in the 69kg class. After winning the 2008 Beijing Olympics he tested positive for some special secret sauce in 2010, so missed the 2012 London Olympics. He’s rumored to have hurt his knee last month so can’t lift big boy weights required by China, so his spot has been taken by Shi Zhiyong. Interestingly Shi squat Jerks like Lu Xiaojun and Tian Tao, so China will have Squat Jerkers in the 69, 77 and 85kg categories at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
